Ramail Singh Barn Obituary

Ramail Singh Barn, highly regarded husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2016 at the age of 93. He was born on March 24, 1923 in the village of Barna, India. His passion for teaching led Ramail to become a respected educator in Palahi, India.

Ramail's visionary spirit brought him to the Yuba Sutter area in 1969 with his wife Udham Kaur and their five children. As his family settled in Live Oak, Ramail was able to build a strong foundation for his family and forge a close community of friends. His reputation as a respected educator also followed him to Live Oak, where he became known to the Sikh community as simply, "Master Ji". As a true believer in the Sikh faith, he cherished his time as a member of the Live Oak Sikh Temple and served on the committee as Treasurer.

Spending quality time with family was always Ramail's priority. He is survived by his three sons Gurmit Barn, Kuljit Barn and Iqbal Barn; and two daughters Surinder Phagura and Naranjan Chatha. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, who will all fondly remember him as "Baba Ji".

Prayer services will start at Chapel of the Twin Cities, Yuba City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2016 followed by final prayer and cremation at Chapel of the Twin Cities. Additional prayer services will follow at Live Oak Sikh Temple.
