Randy Niel Evans Obituary

Randy Niel Evans, 66, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Helen Geraldine and Onie O'Niel Evans Jr. on February 16, 1948. He moved to the Yuba-Sutter community in 1963, where he resided until his death.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Onie O'Niel Evans Jr.

Randy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Ann Couts Evans; son, Alexandar Evans; daughter-in-law, Shenise Evans; daughter, Meredith Evans; son-in-law, James Elkins; mother, Helen Geraldine Evans; brother, Mark Evans; sister, Patricia Tyler; grandchildren, Zander Evans, Avery Evans, and Nisa Mather, and adopted "sons", Robert Parker, Ryan Mather, Joshua Ross, Warren Eagle and John Dugan.

Randy attended Marysville High School and graduated in 1967. He worked for Caltrans for 32 years as a Transportation Planner for District 3 until his retirement. Randy was an active community volunteer and member of many organizations. He participated in the Sutter County Grand Jury for two years, was a member of the Olivehurst Lions Club, elected to the Yuba County Office of Education School Board, was elected for two terms to Olivehurst Public Utility District, and partook in plays and set building for The Acting Company. He was interested in historical events and sailing, but mostly spent his spare time with family.

A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held on Saturday, January 03, 2015, at The Teegarden House, 731 Plumas Street, Yuba City, CA, 95991, between 1:00 - 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The , 2007 'O' Street, Sacramento, CA, 95811, www.heart.org or Sierra Donor Services, 1760 Creekside Oaks Drive, #220, Sacramento, CA 95833, www.sierradonor.org, or St. Jude's Children Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, www.stjude.org. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ryan Mather, The Sutter County Fire Department, Bi-County Ambulance, and Rideout Hospital staff for their tireless efforts to extend his life.
