Reta Louise Higgins Obituary

Reta Louise Higgins, 93, passed January 2, 2018. She was born in Porter, Washington and moved to Live Oak, California at the age of three where she later graduated from Live Oak High School. She was the fourth child of a seven-child family.

She was married to E. Vernon Higgins for 49 years who was a torpedoman in the Navy and later worked for the California Canned Cling Peach Association.

Reta was a member of the Red Hats Society. She spent many years playing in local bridge clubs. Her passion was enjoying her grandchildren and painting. She was an amazing still life artist.
She always greeted you with a smile. She lived, loved, laughed and never met a stranger.

She leaves behind her one remaining sister, Glenn Mills (Arley) of Live Oak; daughter, Patricia Frazier of Marysville; and son, Jimmy Higgins (Connie) of Chester; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern 1; her longtime boyfriend, Vern 2; brother, Morey Onstine; brother, Walter Onstine; sister, Irma Wassell; sister, Barbara Dailey; and sister, Edna Pierce.

Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the .
