Richard Gardenhire Obituary

Richard Gardenhire knew Jesus and went home to be with Him in the early morning hours of May 26, 2015, peacefully escorted home by heavens angels.

Richard, 80, was born in Hulbert, Oklahoma on May 10, 1935, raised by parents, William Richard & Tressie (Long) Gardenhire and became a resident of Yuba City, as a young child.

Richard married his soul mate Lemmie Lee Pope, August 18, 1956. They were married 50 years. Lemmie made her journey home on July 11, 2006.

Richard and Lemmie with there family formed The Gardenhire Family Singers in 1977 and traveled spreading the love of Jesus in song. After traveling in full-time ministry for 18 years, Richard and Lemmie became faithful members of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God.

Richard touched many lives in so many ways, as a family member, a friend and as a servant of God. His integrity, unwavering concern for others and his commitment to serve Christ was an example to all that knew him. With love and memories, his deeds and Godly daily examples, will live on in those that loved him.

Survivors include 2 children, son, Arlin Gardenhire (wife, Harlynn) daughter, Trudy Gardenhire Gibson (husband, Bill) both of Yuba City, 3 grandchildren, Dustin Gardenhire of Yuba City, Tiffany Gibson Springsteen (husband, Zach), and Caleb Gibson (wife, Jamie) both of Browns Valley and 4 great-grandchildren, Jonah Springsteen, Leah Springsteen, Nathan Kesterson and Cadence Gibson.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, 760 Spiva Ave., Yuba City. Pastor Bill Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sutter Cemetery.
