Richard William Myers, 85, died peacefully of age related illnesses in Yuba City, CA on May 5, 2013.

He was born August 25, 1927 to Charles and Blanche Myers in Oakland, CA. Richard proudly served as a US Merchant Marine in WWII and retired from a long career at Jorgensen Steel Company. Richard married Cathern Hettick in 1947, (divorced 1975, she died 1981) and is survived by their children, son Douglas (Nancy) Myers in Chico CA and daughter Karen (James) Rogers in Port Angeles WA, sister Janice Almy in Sacramento CA, his three nieces; Christine, Robin, Debbie, nephew Jack, his five grandchildren; Cynthia (Erik) King, Richard Myers, Gregory Myers, Daniel (Kellie) Myers, Mark Myers and five great grandchildren; Mitchell, Harrison, Cassidy, Serena and Simon. He is also survived by his wife Helen Myers they married in 1976. Richard was preceded in death by his son Michael and his sister Patricia. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to his care givers at Summerfield Senior Living.
Arrangements by Holycross Memorial Services in Yuba City CA, Funeral Mass to be held at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Yuba City on May 13, 2013 at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Sutter Cemetery Yuba City. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to your local Church or Charity.
