Robert Tubandt Sr. Obituary

Robert Paul Tubandt, Sr., age 96, passed away on November 27, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Robert was born February 18, 1914 to Paul & Nellie Tubandt in South Dakota. In 1936 he married his wife, Ruby and lived in Redfield, SD. He was working at a Civilian Conversation Camp (CCC). When work became scarce during the great depression, they moved to Minnesota. Shortly after, two girls were born, Myrna and Joyce. In 1940, they bought a 140 acre farm where they farmed and had two boys, Bob Jr., and Don. They farmed until 1964 at which time they sold the farm and moved to California with Joyce and Don. He worked for the Yuba City Unified School District in maintenance for 14 years. In 1978 Bob and Ruby retired and traveled in a motor home, took some cruises and a trip to Germany. He was a member of Seniors In Retirement and the Loyal Order of the Moose. In 2007, after 42 years in California, they decided to move back to Wadena, MN. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Ruby, and his four children. Myrna (Gordon) Moench, Bob Tubandt, Jr., (Jan), both of Wadena MN, Joyce Duncan of Yuba City, and Don (Dianne) Tubandt of Yuba City, CA. He had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the spring in Wadena, MN. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home. Send Condolences to www.appealdemocrat.com
