Robert E. Mohammed passed away at the Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Ca on November 10, 2016 at the age of 98. Mr. Mohammed was born in Detroit, MI to Fathe and Mary Mohammed on September 1, 1918.
He had attended college at the University of Pennsylvania, then served in the Army Air Corp. during W.W.II. While later attending UC Berkeley, his father passed away, so he returned home to take care of the family farm. He fell in love with farming and made it his lifetime career.
At age 44, he went on vacation to Mexico City where he met his wife Lillian McKinney. They made their home in Yuba City for over 55 years. He was a member of several farming organizations throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fathe and Mary Mohammed, and his sister Lillian Palmer. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Mohammed, of 55 years, and his niece Cynthia Culpepper of the east coast and a great nephew and niece.
Funeral services will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12 Noon, followed by interment at Sutter Cemetery in Sutter, CA. The family would prefer memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
