Robert (Bob) Mulcahy Obituary

Long time resident of Yuba City, Robert (Bob) Mulcahy, passed away September 29, 2013, at the age of 80, surrounded by his devoted wife and family.

Bob retired as a maintenance regional manager from the CA Dept. of Transportation, where he began his career in 1953. While with Caltrans, Bob created the District 3 History Room and was the youngest Senior Superintendent.

A man with many interests, Bob kept busy golfing, restoring old cars, hunting, RV Clubs, ham radios, and in his younger years, trail riding with his sons and buddies. Upon retirement, Marilyn and Bob enjoyed traveling both stateside and abroad.

Bob's biggest love was his wife of 59 years, Marilyn, his soul mate and best friend. Bob loved his family, especially the company of his two sons, David of Sacramento and Darryl of Yuba City; daughter-in-law, Hope; and dear friend, Kathy; and his three grandchildren, Monica and Madeline of Sacramento, and Justin of Yuba City. Friends were treated like family and will continue to be welcome into the Mulcahy home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 5th at 11:30am at the First United Methodist Church of Yuba City, followed by a reception at the Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Yuba City-PDF
