Roger William Farren Obituary

Roger Farren was the son of Alfred Farren and Veronica Patterson of San Francisco and born on May 20, 1948. Roger was raised in Cupertino and Paradise, California. He passed away on July 17, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. He graduated from Cupertino High School and attended California State University, Chico. Roger acquired Larry's Business Machines, Inc. of Yuba City in the 1980's. He later opened Discount Furniture in Marysville.

Roger was an avid cyclist and he is listed as a California Triple Crown winner for completing three double century races in 2010, which helped him join the 1000 mile club for finishing five of said races overall. He was also a member of Rotary and active in the 20/30 club, LeTip, and an active member in the Chamber of Commerce. At one point, he served as the head of the YMCA club and chaired the Christmas bicycle program which provided bicycles to children in need. You could always find Roger on his boat in Lake Oroville during the summer time soaking up the sun.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Farren; brothers, David, Michael, and Phillip and numerous cousins, nieces, and a nephew. He had many close friends in his community including Rick Thomas who was his best friend for thirty-five years.

Roger, you will be missed dearly by all who knew you, but your memory continues to live on.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Roger's house August 1, 2015 at 2pm for anyone who would like the opportunity to say goodbye to our dear friend.
