Rose Anna (Vonah) Hecker Obituary

Rose Anna Vonah Hecker of Clipper Mills, CA, passed from this life Thursday, August 23, 2018, in Oroville, CA. She was born in Elk Grove, CA, to Anna and Gus Vonah on January 15, 1923, she was 95 years old.

Rose was employed for many years at Yuba Feather School in Challenge, CA, as Assistant School Cook. After her retirement she was still busy with her community. She wrote "The Sunshine Corner" for the Rabbit Creek Journal, was a proud member of the Clipper Mills Fire Department auxiliary, as well as the Yuba Feather Historical Society. For many years she distributed the USDA food commodities for the foot hill area. She was loved by many and she was an important part of the community as well as our family. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Carl (Linda), Edwin (Vera), Max and John Hecker; grandchildren, Mark, Deannna, Rebecca, Tanya, Clayton, Tina, Max Jr., Paula, Christie, and Elizabeth; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary and Ethel; husband, Robert Ermil Hecker; grandson, Mathew Hecker; as well as daughter-in-law, Sheryl Hecker.

We would like to thank Butte Hospice and Shadowbrook Rehab Center for the care provided our mother and grandmother.

Graveside services will be held, at Brownsville Cemetery at 10 am, Saturday, September 15th, 2018, followed by a potluck reception at Forbestown Hall. All are welcome. Please bring your favorite dish.
