Roy Newlove, a long time Yuba-Sutter resident, died unexpectedly November 1st, 2016, at the age of 67. He was surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Shannon Newlove; his children, Heather (Dennis) Terpelle, Dustin (Lacey) Newlove, Jonathan Newlove, Sarah (Christian) Kliewer, Rachel Myers, Malia Myers; 16 grandchildren; his mother Barbara Newlove; Ruth Newlove, and his sisters Debbie (Carl) Gordon and Kathy (Andy) Lewis of Michigan. He is preceded in death by his father Max Newlove and his son Michael Myers.
He was born in Michigan on September 12, 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S.A.F. and moved to the Yuba-Sutter area in 1969 when he was stationed at Beale AFB. He retired from PG&E after 26 years. He was a proud resident of Marysville and owner of Stassi's 4th Ward Tavern for 21 years.
He was a brilliant craftsman. One of his favorite hobbies was remodeling. He took great pride in creating spaces that looked as if they always belonged. He enjoyed rescuing antique tractors, working on his farm and napping with his five rescued fur babies. He believed government spelled backwards spelled stupid and grandchildren were your reward for not killing your children.
Roy had a witty sense of humor and will be greatly missed by the many people who loved him.
Visitation will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at LDS Church on North Beale Rd. on Tuesday November 8 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held at Sutter Cemetery on Tuesday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m.
