Rufina H. Barth Obituary

Rufina was born in Glasgow, Montana on June 11, 1922 to Paul and Greta Buchmann and passed away peacefully at Amador Residential Care Center in Jackson, CA on September 15, 2016. She was one of six children and worked on the farm until she left for San Francisco with a girlfriend during World War II.

Even though her husband was also from northeastern Montana, they met in California through one of her roommates and were married in San Francisco on April 6, 1946. They decided to stay in California (nicer weather) and lived in Sacramento, Chico and Biggs before settling in Yuba City in 1957, where she lived until 2010. She was a homemaker raising their two children, Donald and Carolyn, and volunteered with the schools and Young Ladies' Institute.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George O. Barth, her parents, and siblings Gustav, Paul, Lucille and Karl.

She is survived by son Donald G. Barth and daughter Carolyn M. Hodges; 4 grandchildren, Laura Barth Raissian, Paul Barth, Brian Hodges, and Steven Hodges; 2 great grandchildren, Brian Hodges Jr., George Hodges; sister Erma Feucht of Clarkston, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

We wish to thank the staff at Amador Residential Care Center for their compassionate care of our mom in her last six years in memory care.

Her funeral will be held at St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Burial will immediately follow at Sutter Cemetery.
