Sharon Lee Hofer, a Petaluma-born business manager, wife, mother of four, grandmother to 18, and great-grandmother to 11, died on August 27, 2015 in Marysville, Ca. She was 68.

The cause of death was a series of health conditions related to a long-term habit of cigarette smoking, including various infections, an enlarged heart, and other failing organs.

Born Sharon Lee Davis to Glidden and Mae Elva Davis in 1946, she was the sixth of seven children. She married William Richard Hofer on July 14, 1973, and together they raised two of her children from a previous marriage, as well as two children of their own.

Her loved ones will remember and treasure her tenacious, endearing, and altruistic spirit. Beyond her unconditional love for her family and devotion to life as a wife and mother, Sharon had an insatiable curiosity for current events, was a technology aficionado, and had an undying love for horror films, television shows, and novels, especially written by Stephen King.

She is survived by her children Traci Velez, Vicki Kelley, and William Richard Hofer Jr.
