Sherman "Don" Carter Obituary

Sherman "Don" Carter, born November 10, 1936 in Little Rock, Texas, laid to rest on April 3, 2016 in Spanaway, Washington. He lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for more than 50 years, before moving to the coast where he opened "Don's Barber Shop". He retired in 2012, after 12 years. He moved to Washington a few years after, where he spent the remainder of his 79 years.

He is survived by his sister Sherma Jean Gardener of Oregon; three kids from his first marriage: daughter Darla of California and two sons, Lyle of Hawaii and Darren of California; his second wife Wilma of Washington and her four kids: Consuella (Sissy) and Gorden (Allen), both of Washington, Russell of California, and Martin of Texas; and many grandchildren from both marriages: Trisha, Alex, Max, Anthony and Sean, all of California, Preston, Regina and Brandi of Oregon, Samantha, Darion, Evelyn (Cricket), Guy (Bubba), Bobby and Makaylah (Buda) of Washington, and Indika of Texas. He also had 18 great-grandchildren. He loved them all the same.

He is preceded in death by his parents Sherman Carter and Lenora Roden; his brother Sterling Carter; and grandson Ryan.

A Celebration of Life will be held November 5, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Bonanza Inn, 1001 Clark Ave., Colusa Room, Yuba City. Questions: call Darla (530) 329-2808
