Shirley Faye Murray Obituary

Shirley F. Murray, 87, of Marysville, passed away on August 1, 2016. She was born in Tulare, CA and grew up in Modesto and Riverbank, CA. She graduated from Oakdale High School, attended Modesto Junior College, then went to Heald's Business College. She married Roger in 1948 and moved to the Wheatland area where she remained for the rest of her life. They would have been married 68 years in April of this year.

Mom quickly devoted her life to Dad and her children as they came along. She went back to work in 1969 at the Marysville Medical Clinic as a cashier, and retired from there after 26 years at the age of 65. She then went on to become a part of the Rideout Auxiliary as a "Pink Lady" and enjoyed her position for 21 years until the age of 80.

Mom was an expert seamstress and was always embroidering or sewing something for everyone she knew. She was also an excellent cook/baker and many people were the happy recipients of her famous cookies and brownies. She also loved writing cards. Mom was the most giving, thoughtful person, always putting everyone ahead of herself. We will miss her gentle, sweet spirit that has been an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roger; her parents Gerald Foster and Audrey Bradley and her Aunt Wanda.

She is survived by her children, Sue (John) of Australia, Eric of LaPorte, Laurie of Yuba City, Carol of Oroville; her granddaughters, Linda and Jill of Australia, Steve and Cindy Murray, Todd and Tammy Murray, Terri Murray and their families. We love you Mom and will forever miss you.

Services will be held at Hillcrest Plaza Room, 210 Julie Dr., Yuba City at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2016.
