1961 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
Theodore "Ted" Shadle Obituary

Theodore (Ted) Shadle passed away on September 19, 2017 with his family by his side. Theodore was 55 years old and had been battling liver cancer. He was born in San Jose on September 25, 1961 to Larry and Marie Shadle. He spent his childhood years in San Jose. After high school the family moved up to Live Oak and then Yuba City. He received an associate degree from Yuba College and later worked at the Appeal-Democrat for 11 years before he had to retire.

Theodore was an outgoing type of guy that loved to make people laugh. He was involved with the Acting Company in Yuba City for a few years. He was also a member of the Iles Academy of Golf for Kids, a member at First Lutheran Church and on the worship team.

Theodore loved to be around his family and grandkids. He loved playing golf and being on his boat or watching his favorite football team, the 49ers. But Theodore loved to sing karaoke or any song that was on the radio. Theodore (Papa Ted) mainly loved to be with his granddaughters. You could see him on the sidelines watching them play softball, basketball, gymnastics or at school events taking pictures.

Theodore is survived by his loving wife, Dana, of 25 years; his four step kids, Michael Goodwin, Sarah Morse, Jennifer Morse and Megan Downer and her husband Anthony Downer; 6 grandkids, Ty, Shyanne, Candence, Shayna, Maci, Paislee, Audrey and Lane; his dad Larry Shadle, brother Leo Shadle and sister Mary Clark Shadle plus many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Theodore is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Shadle and his grandparents Mary and John Zoria and Barbara Zoria.

Theodore was a loving and caring husband, devoted father and the best grandpa ever. His humor and love for God will be dearly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.

Services will be held on October 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church, 850 Cooper Ave., Yuba City, followed by a potluck reception at the church.

Flowers and cards may be delivered to First Lutheran Church. Arrangements are provided by Holycross Memorial Services, Yuba City.
