Thomas Edward Wilson Sr. Obituary

Thomas Edward Wilson Sr. passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on June 25, 2017. Tom served 10.5 years in the U.S. Army and was a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam. He continued his career as a licensed A&P mechanic and certified IA with McClellan AFB, LSI, Siller Brothers and United Airlines. Tom also obtained his private pilot's license in 2000 and loved to be a part of the pilot community. Tom could talk with his airport buddies for hours about planes and flying. He enjoyed making a mean pot of spicy chili for them at Sutter County Airport. Tom was previously the Commander for the Beale Composite Squadron 19 Civil Air Patrol at Beale AFB. He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilot Association (AOPA) and the Sutter Buttes Regional Aviation Association .

Tom also loved animals and was a rescuer of many cats with his wife, Renee. He will be missed by his furry friends Shelly, Loki, Etzi, Lucy and Bella. His extra special friend was his Golden Retriever, Sampson. Sampson preceded him in death in 2010 and will be greeting Tom in Heaven.

Tom is survived by his wife of 27 years, Renee Wilson, son Tommy (Trisha), daughter Lindsey (Josh), son Cliff, grandchildren Iveyrein, Aliyah, Makenna, Zachary and Athena. He is also survived by sisters Della, Doris and Susie. He will be greatly missed by special family members Len, Anita, Marcus, Leveda, Julie, Chloe and Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his father Henry, mother Loretta and brother Bobby. The family would like to especially thank Tom's friends at Sutter County Airport and Renee's friends at Yuba County Health & Human Services for their support and assistance during this difficult time.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 11 :00 a.m. at Chapel of the Twin Cities in Yuba City. A celebration of life BBQ in Tom's kitchen will be held immediately following the service at the family's residence in Yuba City. Burial will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on July 6, 2017.
