Thomas Lowell "Tom" Russ Obituary
Thomas (Tom) Lowell Russ, 69, passed away peacefully February 12, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Robert and Lowetta (Rusty) Russ. He grew up in Corning, CA with his sisters Melanie and Molly. He graduated from Corning High School in 1964.

In 1967, Tom married Betty Jean Reed and had one daughter, Pala (Russ) Cantrell in 1968. Tom and BJ spent most of their lives together in Corning until retiring and moving to Coos Bay, Oregon. Tom worked for the City of Corning for almost 30 years retiring as Public Works Director in 2008.

Tom loved to hunt in his younger days and continued to fish and crab with his family as much as he could. To follow one of their many passions, Tom and BJ had traveled the states on their Harley-Davidson, making it to Sturgis multiple times. He can be best described as vivacious, loving, caring, and had a way with words that everyone understood. He was as kind at heart as he was big in stature.

Tom was survived by his wife, Betty Jean, and his daughter and son-in-law Pala and Jerome Cantrell.
He was extremely proud of his grandchildren Kendall (wife: Mary Michael) and Heather Cantrell. He has one namesake, Thomas Kendall Cantrell, son of Kendall and Mary Michael Cantrell.

No services will be held as per Tom's request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to .
