Trumon G. Cooper Obituary

Trumon G. Cooper of Yuba City, CA, passed away January 13, 2018. Trumon was born October 17, 1917, and spent his childhood and teen years in Cumby, TX.

After graduating from high school, he remained in Texas until 1941, when he moved to Los Angeles, CA. He was drafted into the Army in 1944, and was trained in aviation to service and maintain military aircraft. In November of 1947, he married Betty Soucek and together they had four children.

In 1953, the family moved to the Yuba City/Marysville area where Trumon initially sold cars and farmed peaches and walnuts. He eventually became a real estate broker and later became a licensed contractor in California and began developing residential subdivisions in Yuba City.

Trumon was a member and served on the board at Plumas Lake Country Club, was a past member of the Lion's and Elk's Clubs, a member of SIRS and an active member of the Yuba City Moose Lodge for over 60 years.

He is survived by his children, Sondra Johnson of Cave Creek, AZ; Elaine Vasquez of Yuba City, CA; Craig Cooper of Yuba City, CA; and Kent Cooper of Arboga, CA; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cooper.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 1pm at Sierra View Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Twin Cities.
