Virginia B. Standefer Obituary

We lost a wonderful spirit on August 14, 2017. Virginia B. Standefer, born November 19, 1936, was set free. Born in Campbell, Ohio, she was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 42 years.

Virginia was an executive secretary (NY Life) before taking a CNA course in 1982 and becoming a care home worker. Later she was a "live-in" caregiver. She brought love, care and compassion to many clients creating lifelong bonds with "countless" families (adult children) and friends left behind. She was an asset to her profession. She gave all.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents William and Helen Nitupski; James D. Standefer and sisters Irene Koval and Rosemary Grider.

She is survived by five children, Kathie Spratt (Mark), Susan Klemp (Scotty), Michael Standefer, Mark Standefer (Susan) and "the baby" Chris Bird (Charlie); two sisters, Theresa Ragan and Lorraine Zbylut; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and thirteen nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or donations (with a smile and remembrance) please do one act of kindness in Virginia's honor.

A very "heartfelt thank you" to the many angels at Yuba Skilled Nursing Center for making Virginia's last years so happy and content. Your "many" kindnesses were appreciated and won't be forgotten. And lastly, "thank you" Hollie Jennings (wherever you are) for helping two sisters find the "perfect" place for their mother. They were very lost and very confused. Your smile and compassion was such a relief.

"Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, He set me free".
