Passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the age of 78. He was well known in the Yuba-Sutter area as a professional photographer.

Will was born in Des Plaines, Illinois on May 2, 1933. His family moved to Beloit Wisconsin, where he graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1952, and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Will served in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Germany processing film from the aerial reconnaissance U-2 spy planes. His last assignment was at Beale Air Force Base in the Air Defense Sector.

Will and his family settled in the Yuba-Sutter area where he worked for Foremost Dairies and the State of California Department of Water Resources in Sacramento as a microfilm photo copyist.

In 1974 he left the Department of Water Resources to open his own studio, Fochs' Home of Photography in Yuba City, and attained a life-long dream. His passion for photography began at the age of nine and continued his whole life.

Will was a member of the Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley and a member and past president of Yuba City Kiwanis Early Risers Chapter.

He is survived by: wife Dorothy, brother Cyril Fochs of St. Charles, Missouri, sons Steven Fochs (Juanita) and Kenton Fochs (Maren) of Yuba City, Lou Strnad (Susan) and Jim Strnad of Idaho, daughters Diana Funkenbusch (John) of Washington, and Dori Trolinger (Mike) of Idaho, 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Arnold and Anna Fochs of Yuba City, and his sister, Clarinda "Skip" Harrer of Wisconsin.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church on the corner of Jay and Arboga Road in Olivehurst.
