William Charles Fleming Obituary

February 14, 1960 - February 12, 2018

William Charles Fleming, 57, of Walla Walla, Washington, passed away on February 13, 2018. He passed suddenly after a sustained illness that he had been dealing with for some time.

Bill is survived by his brother, Mike Stevens, of Yountville, California; and his sister, Teresa Buck, of Yucca Valley, California; as well as his parents, Lynette and John Stevens of Loma Rica, California.

Bill was raised in Southern California and later moved to Walla Walla after meeting his wife, Sheryl who was from there. She had a son, John Adam Phillips, who also survives Bill. Sheryl died from a pedestrian accident in the city of Portland in 2001.

Bill was the humorist of the family, quick with the sarcasm and ironic with. He kept the family laughing with his take-offs of various family members. He had a knack for capturing everyone's mannerisms to a tee. We will miss that.

Bill had a fluid relationship with his name. When he was three years old, he decided he was Cochise and would answer to no other name. When he was older, his mother started calling him Liam, and without objection, he became Liam. As long as you paid attention to him, he would respond to various names.

We're thankful we had him for fifty eight years. His brother, Rick, passed away in 2013. We know that Bill missed his brother all this time and now we will miss them both.

Bill was a hard worker who worked for me, his stepfather, and who worked numerous years at a recycling yard in Walla Wall until his back incapacitated him. May he rest in peace.
