William Franklin (Bill) Jordan Obituary

William (Bill) Franklin Jordan, age 84, of Live Oak, CA, went to be with his Savior on May 26, 2016 and was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 55 years. He passed away peacefully at his home, while surrounded by his family and close friends. Bill was born on February 23, 1932 in Heavener, OK. At the age of 5, he moved with his family to Corcoran, CA, where he was raised.

Bill was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 3) for over 60 years. He was a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years and worked on several major state public works projects including the construction of the Oroville Dam. Bill was a peach and walnut farmer for the past 25 years. He retired in 1997 at the age of 65, but never stopped working. Bill was also a licensed minister and active member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Live Oak, where he served as a teacher for many years. Bill loved the Lord and served Him faithfully until his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, but most of all, studying The Bible. He will be missed by all whom were blessed to know him.

Bill was one of nine children born to the late Allen and Winnie Jordan. He was preceded in death by his son William (Billy) Jordan and daughter Jeanie Jordan.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years, JoAnn Jordan; caring son Mark Jordan (Cindy) of Gridley; beloved grandchildren Freddie Jordan, Willie Jordan (Tabitha), Jessica Sabatte (Joel), Tamara Jordan; cherished great-grandchildren Scalett and Georgia Jordan; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews and countless other friends and family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 4-7 pm at Holycross Memorial in Yuba City, CA. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10 am at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Live Oak, with interment following at Live Oak Cemetery.
