Winifred Jane Smith Obituary

Born February 15, 1948, to Ira T and Mary Jane Smith in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She joined her parents, sister and brother on April 20, 2017, in the afterlife after a brief illness.

Winifred (Windy) along with her parents and siblings traveled due to her father's work. Many of her favorite places included California, New Mexico, Oregon and Arizona. After graduating from Del Norte High School in Crescent City, Ca. ; the family settled in Wheatland, Ca. in 1967.

Windy worked at the Pink Pantry/Chat & Chew restaurant in Wheatland while attending Yuba College where she graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Business. Soon after Windy was hired by Yuba County Social Services where she worked for 14 years. With retirement Windy not only went back to school she also proceeded to help raise numerous nieces and nephews.

Windy is survived by her brother, Gary Smith, Hawthorne, NV; sister, Judith Smith, Wheatland, Ca.; her niece, Jaime Stineman Beckman (Sam); great nieces, Abigail Stineman and Avarylyn Beckman; and great nephews, Charles Stineman and Kurt Boggs.

She also leaves behind her nieces, Pamela (Jay) Henderson; great nephews, Jake Ray and Morgun, Mary (Steve) Scheer and great nephews Cody and Colton, Patricia (Ken) Boggs and great nephew Logan, nephews; Eric Zumwalt and Donald Zumwalt of Oroville, Ca.; Niece Delia Smith Lee; great niece, Kelly; great nephew, Michael (Polly) and great great nephew Tristan; niece, Emily Smith, (Dan) Benc; great niece Jacklyn; and great nephew Jacob of Talent, Oregon

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ira Terrence and her sister Mary Gail.

Winifred was laid to rest surrounded by her loved ones on May 8, 2017, at the Wheatland Cemetery.

The family requests any donations to be sent to Field Haven Feline Rescue Center, 2754 Ironwood Lane in Lincoln, CA 95648.
