Obituary Condolences

After a long illness, Yorimi Matsumoto, nearly 89 years old, died of complications from Diabetes at home on March 26, 2014.

He was born in Yuba City on July 29, 1925 but grew up in Marysville. He attended Kindergarten through 8th grade at the old Marysville Grammar School but was unable to graduate from Marysville High School.

When the war in the Pacific began, he was imprisoned in a Northern Californian concentration camp at Tule Lake from 1942-1946.

Shortly after being released from the prison camp, he relocated to Whitier, CA to obtain his undergraduate degree. Then he moved to the Middle West and finally to the East Coast to complete his graduate studies. Upon retirement in 1990, he returned to Marysville.

His Japanese emigrant parents and his youngest brother, predeceased him.

He is survived by a younger brother, Lew.

As he wished, no service was held and he requested no donations or Koden.
