Yukimi Shingu Obituary
Yukimi Shingu
Yukimi Shingu, 94 years old, born September 14, 1922, entered into her eternal rest on June 6, 2017.

She was the daughter of Bunich Nishita and Ichiyo Yoshioka. She was a lifelong resident of Yuba City where she attended Franklin Elementary School, Sutter High School and Yuba College. She married her high school sweetheart, George Shingu, on May 17, 1942. They recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary with a dinner party with family. She was an integral partner with George in the day to day operation of the family farm for over 50 years.

Yuki, as she was known by her family and friends, was full of life and energy. Her greatest joy came from being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was sweet, thoughtful and generous. Everyone she met immediately loved her. She was the best mom, grandma and great-grandma and she will be missed with all of our hearts. She loved her family unconditionally and was always there with a word of encouragement.

She loved to cook and was the best cook ever. We always looked forward to family gatherings because her cooking was so delicious as well as just being together. She was the nucleus of our family. One of her other great pleasures was the casinos. She would go with her husband and friends. There, she let her hair down and truly enjoyed herself.

She is survived by her husband, George Shingu, four children, Wayne Shingu of Marysville, Gayle Dockrey (Dean), Janis Perrucci (Greg) and Gregg Shingu, all of Yuba City; also eight grandchildren, Wayne Jr of Marysville, Grace Hammond of Hanford, Garrett Shingu of Yuba City, Nick Perrucci (Cassie) of Clovis, Blake Perrucci of Yuba City, Adam Dockrey of Yuba City, Haley Dockrey of Los Angeles and Trevor Perrucci of Yuba City; three great-grandchildren, Tristan and Travis Hammond, Paige Perrucci and another great-grandson on the way. She is also survived by sister, Emma Iwasaki of Atherton, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dan Nishita.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Friday June 23rd, 2017, at 2:30 pm at the Marysville Buddhist Church.
