Surrounded by his family, Amar Singh Punian passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2014.
He is survived by his wife Channan Kaur Singh; his three children, Baldev Singh, Basant Singh, Harbans Southward; his three brothers, Ajit Punian, Jack Punian, and Ranbir Punian; his four sisters, Prem Lali, Subran Sandhu, Vijay Kaur Singh and Ranjit Kaur Sahota; his 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his four sons, Balbir Punian, Balwant Punian, Bishun Punian and Baldip Punian, his two brothers, Dalbag Punian and Gurbachan Punian, his sister Gyan Singh and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Harjara Singh.
Amar Singh was born on May 18, 1926 in Fiji Islands where he worked as a dairy farmer. He married his wife Channan Kaur on July 7, 1946. He and his wife migrated to the United States in 1962 where they settled with their seven children in Yuba City, California. He was a hardworking humble man who enjoyed his farm and raising his family. He will be remembered for his passion for farming and his dedication and love for his family. He will be greatly missed.
Services will held on June 1, 2014 at 11am in the morning at Ullrey Memorial Chapel located at 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, California 95991.
