Thomas Hugh Teesdale, 86, of Meridian, CA, died suddenly at home on Thursday, July 10, 2014.
He was born on February 13, 1928 to Rose and William H. Teesdale in Los Angeles, CA. He was the eldest son of three children. He attended Lincoln Grammar School, graduated from Yuba City High School in 1945, received a certificate in Horticulture from Davis Aggie School, and also earned an AA degree from Yuba College.
Tom first arrived in Sutter County with his family at the age of three months and has permanently resided in the area for over seventy-five years.
He was a self-employed farm equipment broker and appraiser. He also had farmed peaches with his family and sold real estate.
He was married for thirty eight years to Suellen Starks Teesdale. He is survived by his wife, Suellen; his two sons, Trent Teesdale (Brenda), Stephen Teesdale (Julie); his grandchildren, Tyson Teesdale, Lauren Garcia (Ben), Ryan Teesdale, and Sam Teesdale. He is also survived by his brother, Dick (Joann); a Godson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and William H. Teesdale, and his sister, Rose Mae Frost.
He served in the Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a 50 plus year Elk's club member, and an over 40 year member of the Meridian Lion's Club. He spent countless hours in service through volunteering and fundraisers to benefit the area communities and their youth. He was also a member of the J.A.C.L.
The family would like to thank and recognize Dr. Thomas J. Kaiser for his excellent medical care for over the last 30 years.
A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Free Church, 700 Washington Ave., Yuba City, CA on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Services are under the direction of Rev. Jim Anderson and Ullrey's Memorial Chapel of Yuba City. Dress casually. Inurnment will be private.
