Jane Coleman 67, of Marysville passed away at her residence on January 21, 2010. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, artist and counselor to those in need. Jane will forever be remembered for her love of beauty, both in nature and arts of all mediums. Jane was born in Providence, Rhode Island and moved to Arizona as a teenager then moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she remained for twenty years. In 1989 Jane moved to California and eventually settled in Marysville for the remainder of her life. Jane's love of art was expressed in many ways including her volunteer work with the Santa Fe Opera; her early professional career in nationally known galleries, including her own; and her beautiful knitting, jewelry, artwork and needlepoint. Eventually, Jane discovered her talent and love for working with the public. Jane moved into the human services field where she was able to help individuals with their addiction issues, teach incarcerated women to succeed outside of jail and provide support to families through difficult times. Jane completed her professional career with Sutter County Mental Health as a crisis counselor where she was highly respected and valued. She is survived by her daughters, Jenny Coleman, Kathryn Kark and Stacy Posegate, her granddaughters Olivia and Samantha Jayne, her best friend Allisan Grange and her cats and plants. The family wishes to express their immense gratitude to Jane's friends, particularly the "Knitting Ladies" who provided friendship and joy to her life as well as her colleagues at Sutter County Mental Health. The family is also grateful to Sutter North Hospice, who helped care for Jane in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be submitted to the Hospice.
