Larry Dow Lewis Obituary
Larry Dow Lewis 69, of Yuba City entered into eternal rest, Thursday April 22, 2010 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to his parents Dow "Ted" and Delta Lewis on December 29, 1940 in Logan, Utah. He was a longtime Yuba City resident. Dow was owner and president of Dow Lewis Motors. Dow was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was very active in the community contributing to many organizations, especially those for children. Dow loved to fly, enjoyed spending time with his family at their lake home in Lake Almanor, loved classic cars and working in his yard. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Yuba City, Yuba City Chamber of Commerce, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints â€" Hillcrest Ward, New Car Dealers Association, National Automobile Dealers Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, He contributed to the Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation, and was an ordinance worker in the LDS Sacramento Temple. Those who shared his life were his wife of 50 years Judith Anne Lewis of Yuba City; four children Murry Dow Lewis and wife Sylvia Ann Lewis and their five children Brandon Dow Lewis, Jordan Dieter, Kassie, Mitchell & Cole Lewis all of Yuba City; Lori Anne Summers and husband Craig Alan Summers and their five children Lauren Tyler, Dale Kerrin Louise, Cooper, Keathren & Addisen Summers all of Naperville, IL; Ted Thayne Lewis and wife Cari Lewis and their two children Camden and Kelsey Lewis of Gridley, CA; JaNae McLaughlin and husband Matt McLaughlin and their three children Bryson, Kayla, and Ella McLaughlin of Chico, CA, sisters Sharon Sorenson of Arizona, Patti Crisafi and husband Danny of Hillsborough, CA, Vicki Lewis and husband Rex of St. George, UT and Linda Burgener and husband Ron of Orem, UT, brother Jeff Lewis and wife Marla of Las Vegas, NV. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends and associates. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Yuba City Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1470 Butte House, Road Yuba City. Bishop David Grimes will be officiating. Private burial will be held at Sutter Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Dow's name to the Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation, 970 Klamath Lane, Yuba City, CA 95993 or to Sutter North Hospice, 826 4th Street, Marysville, CA 95901.
