Betty Benton Obituary
Betty Benton passed away peacefully on May 3, 2012 at the age of 75. She was born on February 14, 1937 in Reeds Spring, Missouri to Florian and Harriet Werner.

Betty and her husband Leonard "Bill" Benton moved to California in 1957 where she worked as a convenience store clerk for many years. She was also a homemaker and worked with the Marysville and Lindhurst FFA programs before retiring. She was also involved with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Yuba Sutter Gleaners. Betty raised 9 children and had countless "adopted" children and grandchildren throughout her life. She was a loving mother, grandma and friend to everyone she met. She was willing to help anyone and enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her loved ones. All she ever wanted in life was for everyone to be happy. Betty will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Betty is survived by her daughters Sherill (Ed) Wedgeworth, of Challenge, Carolyn (Richard) Schambach, and Kearn (Matt) Wedgeworth, all of Olivehurst; sons, Buford Benton of FL, Leonard (Sissy) Benton, of TX, Ron (Melissa) Benton, and Allen Benton, all of Yuba City; daughter-in-law Ada Benton, of Brownsville; sister Dorothy (Bill) Olsen; brothers Leonard Harris, and Buddy Werner, all of MO; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents; step father Clyde Harris; her husband Bill Benton; son Billy Benton; daughter Janet Dowing; son-in- law Walter Dowing; sisters Lytia (Bobby) Self, Mabel Werner, and brother-in-law Dean Benton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on May 11, at the American Legion, Linda Post 807 at 5477 Feather River Blvd., Olivehurst.
