Earl was called to his heavenly home early in the morning Saturday, September 8, 2012 at age 84 years. Earl was born in Blythe, CA July 21, 1928, the eldest son of James and Margaret Berry. He died at the Angel Care Home in Browns Valley where he resided the past 9 months.
Earl spent his childhood in the Fresno area and graduated from schools there. Following his military career, he lived in Yuba City & Brownsville. Earl served 21 years in the US Air Force, he was a Technical Sergeant. He served in Germany, Turkey, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. During his career he worked for the secret service in Europe.
After his retirement Earl worked for Arnes Paint Store for 20 years. His hobbies were restoring old cars, and painting cars and airplanes. Earl enjoyed traveling and was an avid collector of coins.
He is survived by three sons: Richard Berry of West Sacramento, CA; James Berry of Modesto, CA; and adopted son Curtis Berry of Richardson, TX, daughters: Candace Berry Moon of TX; Earlene Berry Bowie of Fresno, CA; and adopted daughter Christine Berry Pierce of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren: Joy Berry Barerra; Noel Berry Balzarini, both of Mtn. House, CA; James Berry of Modesto, CA; Tyler Berry of Richardson, TX, Cole and Logan Moon of TX; Devon and Derek Pierce of TX, great grandchildren: Breahna and Chelsea Balzarini; and Joseph Barerra, all of Mtn. House, CA, nephews: Stanley Boyd Jr.; Stephen Pallesi, both of Fresno, CA; and Guy and Mike Aquayo of CA, nieces: Dr. Michelle Aquayo of Birmingham, AL; Paula Aquayo of CA; Charlotte Cassano of Fresno, CA; Yvonne Berry of CA; and Stella Berry of Vallejo, CA, and his sister Charlene Pallesi of Fresno, CA.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret Berry, brother Charles Berry, and sisters Mozelle Berry Boyd, and Bernita Berry Aquayo.
He was a member of the Brownsville Lutheran Church. In Earl's honor a tribute gift may be sent to the Sutter North Hospice, 400 Plumas St., Yuba City, CA 95993.
Visitation is Tuesday Sept. 18, 2012 from 10 am to 12 noon at Sierra View Mortuary, 4900 Olive Ave. in Olivehurst. Funeral services will follow at noon.
Pastor Glenn Zogg, Brownsville Lutheran Church, will be officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Beale Air Force Honor Guard. Graveside services will follow at the Sierra View Memorial Park.
