Elizabeth Bruno, 95, of Marysville, peacefully passed at home on December 19, 2012. Originally from New York City, Betty and her husband Joe moved to North Hollywood, CA in 1945.|
She was a pioneer teacher in the Los Angeles Early Childhood Education system until retiring to Oregon House in 1980, and to Marysville 20 years later.
Betty served as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in North Hollywood and was active in the Yuba City Chapter. She was a volunteer in the Foothills Hospice, served as a Pink Lady at Rideout Hospital, Grand Jury, "The Grandmothers" who read to the children at the library, and was active at The Racket Club gym. She will be remembered for her beauty, her humor, and as a great traveling companion.
She was preceded by Joe, her husband of 68 years and her daughter Betty Ann, and will be missed by her daughter, (Barbara) Cassidy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church at 730 "D" Street, Marysville.
