Joseph A. Huber
Joseph A. Huber, 81, born in Pennington, CA. recently resided in Yuba City, CA., passed away February 26, 2013.
He was a heart and kidney transplant patient of 24 years. He was a retired Almond farmer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1954, 13 months in the Korean Conflict.
Joe served 16 years on the Live Oak Unified and North Butte School Districts. He is a Past Master at North Butte Lodge 230 of Masons in 1975 and member since 1968, Past President of Midvalley Scottish Rites Club of Yuba City and Past President of the Central Sacramento Valley Shrine Club in 1982. Joe was a member of the Scottish Rites of Sacramento since 1970, Member of Ben Ali Shrine of Sacramento since 1970, member of the Past Master's Association of Sacramento since 1975, Member of Ben Ali Past Master's, Member of Lions Head Unit of Ben Ali since 1972 and Member of the Jester's since 1988. Joe was a Life and P.C.M. member of Ben Ali, Ben Ali Mystic Fund since 1970, Ha-Ya-Ka-Wa of San Francisco, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. Joe had 20 plus years as a member and Past President of the Butte County Junior Livestock Sales Committee, 10 years as a 4-H leader of the Manzanita 4-H Club. Joe was also a member and president of the Live Oak Cemetery District since 1976. Joe was a charter member of Midvalley Historical Auto Club.
His parents Ludwig Huber Sr.,Therisa Huber and brother Louie Huber preceded Joe in death.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Huber, his two daughters Penny Henderson (Tim) of Chico, CA and Patti Huber of Pittsburgh, PA. a Grand daughter Shay Henderson of Chico. Also brother-in-law Bill Prock (Dorothy), sister- in-laws Jane Pannell (Doyle), Odessa Lewis and Madeleine Prock, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday March 3, 2013 at Gridley Block Funeral Chapel, 5-8pm.
A celebration of life will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery Gazebo on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2pm. Reception to follow at Moose Lodge in Gridley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner's Children Hospital, Northern California, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
