Doris C. Trimbath, passed away on March 1, 2013 in Grass Valley, CA. She was 82.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5 in Nevada City, with interment immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery, Grass Valley.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Bell Road Baptist Church, 707 Bell Rd, Auburn, CA.
Doris was born November 15, 1930 to George & Margaret Colton in Attica, NY. She was a health teacher in Buffalo, NY. She married Donald G. Cameron, MD in Buffalo, NY on August 22, 1953. They moved to California in 1958 and to Grass Valley in 1974. She was his office manager and nurse in Grass Valley, and a registered dental hygienist in Auburn, Grass Valley, and Yuba City for over 20 years.
Doris married Byron Hall, November 18, 1995 at NAS Alameda, CA. She married Donald L. Trimbath on November 21, 2003 in West Mifflin, PA.
Doris was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of Combie Bible Church. A strong believer in the value of Christian education, she was an ardent advocate for and benefactor of Forest Lake Christian School. She was an active member of the Nevada County Republican Women and, with husbands Byron Hall and Donald Trimbath, of the Golden Gate and Sacramento Valley chapters of the American Merchant Marine Veterans' Association. Doris was instrumental in the construction of the Merchant Mariners' Memorial at the Tower Bridge in Sacramento and in securing a place for Merchant Mariners alongside other combat veterans at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC.
She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Trimbath; son, Scott Donald Cameron; daughter-in-law, April Cameron; grandchildren, Mathew, Autumn, Donald, Elizabeth, Joshua, and Rachel.
Preceded in death by husbands, Donald G. Cameron, MD (1987) & Byron H. Hall (2001); brothers, Wilbert, Alfred, Richard and Irving Colton; and sisters, Margaret Chapman, Ida Sprott, and Verna Pfuntner.
