Buron (Gene) Eakes, age 80, of Yuba City passed away peacefully in his home with his wife of 63 years, Sharon and his beloved daughter, Debra at his side after a long battle with heart disease.|
Born in 1932 in Chickasha, OK. At the age of 2, his family moved to California. He attended Marysville Alicia Elementary School, Yuba City Bridge Street School and Yuba City High School. After his family moved, he attended Tulare Union High School for 2 years where he met his future wife. He worked as a plumbing estimator for Frank M. Booth Inc. many years and Airco Mechanical before he was forced to retire due to ill health. Hunting and fishing were his favorite sports, along with gardening. He was always willing and enjoyed helping friends and neighbors with any projects.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter Debra Endres (Bern) of Yuba City, son Dennis Eakes of Sacramento, son Brian Eakes (Shirley) of Yuba City; granddaughter Christina Braud (Glenn); great grandchildren, Tommy and Madison Braud of Chula Vista; granddaughter Jennifer Vallejos (Jeremy); and great grandchildren: Alex, Katie and Josh Popham of Bountiful, UT. Also survived by a brother Jim Eakes of Manteca.
Per the deceased wishes there will be no services and his remains have been donated to the UC Davis School of Medicine.
