Doris James Obituary


Doris James passed away at the Courtyard Assisted Living Facility on July 22, 2013. She was born on November 19, 1933 in Yuba City, California.

Doris graduated from Yuba City High School. She married Denver Duncan in December, 1951, and they had two children together; Denise Duncan James & David Duncan.

In May, 1974, Doris married Robert A. "Jesse" James. Jesse had three children; Gregory James, Robert W. James and Kate Nesbitt.

Through the years Doris worked for the old Sutter North Clinic on Third St. in Marysville & for Dr. Kierney, Dermatologist, but preferred being a homemaker and traveling with her husband Jesse.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. James; her parents, Edward and Bertha Morton; her brother, Maurice Morton; and her sister, Dorothy English.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Duncan James, Yuba City; her son David Duncan (Lisa), Yuba City; her step-sons Gregory James, Newport Beach, CA and Robert W. James, Yuba City and her step- daughter Kate Nesbitt, Los Angeles, CA, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, & nieces and nephews.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, Nana and special friend to many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Chapel of the Twin Cities. Burial will follow service at Sutter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers you may make donations to the American Cancer Society.
