Wilbur Lloyd Brown
Wilbur Lloyd Brown, 84, of Yuba City, California, peacefully passed away after a brief battle with cancer on November 23, 2013.

Born in Modesto on January 11, 1929, Wilbur later lived in Barstow, CA, and Olivehurst, CA, and Yuba City, CA. Upon completing two years in the Army, he returned to Yuba City and married his wife of 65 years, Elsie M. Brown.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Leamon and Gustie Bisby, and by his father and stepmother, Ira C. Brown and Marie Brown.

Wilbur is survived by his wife Elsie and their four sons, Frederick (Marylou), Ken (Cindy), William (Christie), and Robert; five grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Michael, John and Carla, and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jacob, Matthew and Brandon. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Woods of Oroville and two brothers, Dale Bisby (Linda) of Ben Lomond, CA, and Ronald Brown of Kansas, and a stepsister June Moor of Colorado.

The majority of Wilbur's working life was spent in heavy construction with years spent in the building of the Oroville Dam Project. Thirty years followed working for and retiring from Baldwin Construction of Marysville, CA.

Wilbur was very active with community organizations in the Yuba- Sutter area such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Loyal Order Of Moose, and the Peach Bowl Little League of Yuba City. A great many friendships were developed with these memberships, but the best of their retired years were spent in Chester, CA. Each year Wilbur and Elsie spent their spring and summer months camping at the Leisure Trailer Park with Wilbur spending many hours fishing on Lake Almanor.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City. Funeral services will be Monday, December 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., also at the Chapel. Burial will follow at Sutter Cemetery in Sutter. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.
