Esther Raymon
Canton - Esther Lena Raymon, 94, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at Fellowship Village at Inwood, IA. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 30, at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with burial at Forest Hill Cemetery near Canton. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Esther was born October 20, 1918 at Canova, SD to William and Cora (Trout) Schierholz. She married Ellwood (Al) Raymon on October 21, 1942 in Canova. They made their home in Canton since 1955.
Esther is survived by 2 sons: Thomas (Cindy) Raymon, Canton, SD and Robert (Lenora) Raymon, Canton, SD; 3 daughters: MaryAnn (Laverne) Gesaman, Wadsworth, OH, Dorothy (Clint) Egleston, San Diego, CA, and Kay (Terry) Ploski, Golden, CO; 7 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al, infant daughter, Joyce, son, Scott, sister, Leona Dickey, and two brothers, Ralph and Norman Schierholz.
Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
