The family will be present to greet friends for visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Griebel, Sioux Falls, daughters, Cathy Starnes, Humboldt, SD, and Lynne Griebel of Milwaukee, WI; son, Merle Griebel, Humboldt, SD; and grandson, Clayton Starnes, Humboldt, SD. Marie Kurtenbach Marie Kurtenbach, age 98, of Dimock, SD, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 9:30 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock, SD. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday, March 27, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Betty L. McGrew Sioux Falls, SD ~ Betty McGrew, 82, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Sioux Falls, SD. The family will be present for visitation on Sunday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, SD from 3 - 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Betty's name to Breast Cancer Research. Mielke, Paul H.  
Paul H. Mielke Paul Henry Mielke, 83, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Visitation and prayer service will be 3:00-5:00 Sunday, March 29 at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 6200 W 41st St., Sioux Falls. Funeral service is at 10:30, Monday, March 30 at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 W 41st St., Sioux Falls. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hartford. Paul, son of Henry and Marie (Martens) Mielke, was born June 30, 1931 on the homesteaded family farm, rural Hartford (Wall Lake), SD. He received his elementary education at Maehl District #109 country school. He attended Hartford High School his freshman year then transferred to Washington High School in Sioux Falls. He attained honor roll status graduating in 1948. He enlisted in the SD Air National Guard in February, 1951. He was activated for the Korean War. He was a skilled and talented aircraft avionics technician. Paul worked on many advanced systems from the P-51 Mustang to the A-7s. His service involved deployments to Norway, Portugal, and the Panama Canal. His dedication and perseverance to excellence awarded him Airman of the Year in 1972. His extensive and decorated military career spanned over 40 years. With patriotism, honor and courage, Paul proudly served his state and country. He was united in marriage to Montae Rae Krumm at Trinity Lutheran Church, East Wall Lake. Paul spent many long hours tending the farm and raising his family. He believed strongly in service to others. In addition to his military service, Paul served as elder and president of his church for many years. He belonged to American Legion Post 0118 in Hartford, SD. Paul was kind, compassionate and humble. He lived his life by example, focusing on family, faith, farming and freedom. He worked hard from sunrise to sunset and he always was willing to lend his ear and share his wisdom when needed. He enjoyed his John Deere tractors, moving dirt and spending time with his family. Paul appreciated all life offered. He will be greatly missed! He was preceded in death by his wife Montae Rae; daughter-in-law Tami Mielke; father-in-law Kenneth Krumm; brother Ervin Mielke; brother-in-law Ron Jacobs; and his parents. He is survived by his three children Greg, Hendricks MN; Paula (Myron) Semrau and Steve, all of Hartford SD. Six grandchildren, Nathan (Elizabeth) Semrau; Dustin Mielke; Christopher (Holly) Mielke; Tyler Semrau; Austin Mielke and Ashley Mielke. Four great-grandchildren Harrison Semrau; Caden Mielke; Carter Semrau and Will Mielke. Mother-in-law Grace Krumm; Sister, Lorna Jacobs; Niece Kathy (Robert) Hales; Nephew David (Tammy) Jacobs and numerous cousins and friends.
