Begeman, John G.  
John G. Begeman John G. Begeman, 83, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. John was born on July 15, 1932 at Parker, SD to Chris and Anna (Hoekman) Begeman. He grew up in rural Parker and attended Spring Valley Country School, Parker High School, and South Dakota State University. On April 18, 1953, he was united in marriage to Lavonne Neeman. John farmed, taught high school and veterans vocational agriculture classes, and served in the Peace Corps. He was a lifelong member of the Calvary Reformed Church in Monroe, SD. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 63 years, Lavonne; sons, Leon (Karen) Begeman, Woodbridge, VA, Joel (Diane) Begeman, Lennox, SD, Paul (Beth) Begeman, Roanoke, VA, Mark Begeman, Monroe, SD, and James (Jenny) Begeman, Martin, SD; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Hietbrink, Munster, IN and brother, Pete Begeman, Parker, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie and granddaughter, Emily. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Calvary Reformed Church in Monroe, SD. The Begeman Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the Calvary Reformed Church Youth Group in Monroe, SD.

Berceau, Robert John  
Robert John Berceau Robert John Berceau died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at home. Robert J. Berceau was born Jan. 31, 1932 at St Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI, the 4th child of Roman and Elizabeth (Pinchard) Berceau. On May 21, 1954, Robert married Marjorie Paul. In 1997, Marjorie died. In 2000, Robert married Judy (Haug) Paulsen. He attended Nicolette and St's. Peter and Paul elementary school. He was team captain and played running back on the football team. Robert graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1949 earning 3 letters in boxing. Robert delivered groceries for "Berceau Grocery". In 1950 Robert began working for General Foods, Wausau, Wisconsin. For twenty six years Robert proudly worked for Procter and Gamble. Robert moved to Madison, WI. In 1964, as Unit Sales Manager for Procter and Gamble, Robert moved to Fargo, North Dakota. In 1977 Robert joined KPR Company as sales manager, retiring in 1996 as Vice President /General Sales Manager. Along with being an avid hunter and Green Bay Packer fan, golfing, fishing, skiing were among Robert's favorite hobbies. He joined the Naval Reserves from 1950-1958. He was a member of the Fargo County Club for 29 years and Knights of Columbus since 1960. Robert is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, David (Laurie), grandchildren, Anthony, Suzanne; son, John (Megan), grandchildren, Victoria, Charles and Abigail; daughter, Michelle (Joe) Williams, grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan, Dylan; step-son, Justin (Amy) Paulsen, step-grandchildren, Ava and Mallory, step-son, Joel (Nichole) Paulsen, step-grandchildren, Keira, Trevor, Finn, and Elizabeth; and his sisters, Barbara Gigot and Judith Ottinger. Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother, Roman and Elizabeth Berceau, his wife, Marjorie, and brothers, Roman Berceau and Paul Berceau. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 24, at 2:30 p.m. at Nativity Catholic Church with visitation one hour before the service. Memorials preferred to Nativity Catholic Church or Father Jack's Peru Mission, Friends of Chimbote. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center. Ret. Major Gary D. Berndt Ret. MAJOR GARRY DEAN BERNDT, age 53, of Eagle River, Alaska, formerly of Ellsworth, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 20, 1963 in Yankton, SD; to parents, George, Sr. and Barbara (Holiday) Berndt. He attended school at Ellsworth, MN; and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1981. Garry received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Dakota State College in 1985, his Master Education and Psychology at Southern Mississippi in 1989 and his PA at University of Oklahoma in 1994. Garry retired from the United States Army in 2009 after serving over 23 years. He served many oversea tours in Kuwait, Iraq, Bosnia and Germany. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, hockey and he loved Alaska. Garry is survived by his father, George Berndt, Sr., Ellsworth, MN; two daughters, Destiny and Aurora Berndt, Eagle River, AK; two siblings, Brenda Berndt, Ellsworth; Terry Berndt, Ellsworth; nephew, Trevor; nieces, Barbara, Mya and Rayna; aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friends, James Larson and Hazen Baron. He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother, Jr. A time of fellowship will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Funeral will be Friday at 10 am at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Friday at the Tyndall Cemetery in Tyndall, SD, with full military honors. Heather Bonander Larchwood, IA Heather Bonander, age 37, of Larchwood, IA, died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 26th at Beaver Valley Lutheran Church near Valley Springs, SD. Burial will follow at South Cemetery near church. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25th from 4-8PM, with family present from 6-8PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood. Heather Jo Bonander was born July 6, 1978 at the Luverne Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota, the daughter of Bruce and Lynne (Sievers) Bonander. She was raised on a family farm west of Larchwood, IA and graduated from West Lyon High School in 1997. She continued her education at University of Sioux Falls and earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She also attended Sioux Falls Seminary to receive her Counseling Certification, but due to health reasons was unable to finish. Heather enjoyed reading and writing poetry. Her pride and joy was spending time with her kids (her niece and nephews). She was a member of Beaver Valley Lutheran Church in Valley Springs, SD. She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Lynne Bonander of Larchwood, IA; maternal grandmother, Lola Sievers of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Angie (Josh) Holz of Larchwood, IA and Melissa (Mark) Cormack of Irving, TX; niece and nephews, Cody, Austin, Ashley and Blake Holz and Aiden Cormack; three aunts, Donna (Mike) Zaug of Watertown, SD, Janell (Arlen) Kuhnert of Valley Springs, SD and Sandy (Bob) Schuette of Crooks, SD; and many cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death paternal grandparents, Axel and Donna Bonander; and maternal grandfather, Loren Sievers.

Broshears, Vivian  
Vivian Broshears Vivian Broshears, 88, of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Vivian B. Lawrence was born June 7, 1927 in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Volin, SD where she received her elementary education. She moved with her family to Sioux Falls where she attended high school, graduating from Washington High School in 1945. Vivian was employed with Kepner Roofing in Sioux Falls. She eventually purchased the business from the Kepner family and continued to own and operate the company until her retirement. Following her retirement, Vivian had several employments, keeping active in the business world until 82 years of age. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Marshall (Linda) Broshears of Sioux Falls, SD, Janell (Jerrold) Haensel of Humboldt, SD, Janean (Gerald) Burke and Renee (Kenneth) Vermillion, both of Sioux Falls; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Tiffany Vermillion; and her sister, A. LaVonne Lawrence Corona. Funeral services will begin 2:00 pm Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home Main Avenue location. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
