Rebnord, Steven  
Steven P. Rebnord Sioux Falls - Steven P. Rebnord, 58, died Wednesday February 25, 2015. Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 2, at Shalom Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, SD. Visitation with the family present is 2-5 PM Sunday, March 1st at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to the National Kidney Fund or a charity of the donor's choosing. Interment will be in the Wildwood Cremation Garden at Hills of Rest Memorial Park, Sioux Falls. Steven was born August 21, 1956 in Sioux Falls and was graduated from Washington High School in 1974. He married Renee Berg on August 24, 1974. Steve worked for Britt's Department Store in the Western Mall and for Best Systems and Services selling computer systems to the medical community. He has worked as the clinic administrator for Ear Nose and Throat Associates of Yankton, SD for the past 11 years until his retirement in July of last year. Survivors include his wife, Renee Rebnord; sons, Eric Rebnord and Nicholas (Stephanie) Rebnord; his parents, Ron and Betty Rebnord, all of Sioux Falls; siblings, Cathy Perryman, Tea, SD, David (Marilyn) Rebnord, Buffalo Grove, IL,, and Sandy Cummings, Brandon, SD. Sechser, Lyle  
Lyle Sechser Lyle Sechser, 74, of Sioux Falls, passed away Monday, March 2nd at Avera McKennan Hospital surrounded in love by his family and friends after undergoing an illness. Lyle was born on February 25, 1941 in Monroe, SD to George and Lela (Olson) Sechser. He graduated from Humboldt High School and went on to study Chiropractic School for a year, before returning to help with the family farm. Following this, he served overseas in the US Army. He was then employed at John Morrell, and later remodeled and rented homes. On April 6, 1974, Lyle married the love of his life, Sheila (Hurley). The family resided in Sioux Falls where Sheila and Lyle took joy in attending activities of their children. Faith, family, and friends were most important to Lyle. His love for the Lord and his Catholic Faith was the driving force in his life. Lyle was a wonderful and dedicated husband and father. He had a unique way of turning an acquaintance into a friend through his genuine interest in the lives of others. His zest for living and his love of life were demonstrated in his photography, cooking and care-giving. Lyle courageously and innovatively fought and managed his cancer over the years, sharing his experience and treatments with others. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Sheila; children, Ann Sechser and Chelsea Sechser of Sioux Falls; brothers, Ronald, Norman, Merle, Robert; and his sister, Gloria; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Georgiana and Mary Lou. Mass of Resurrection will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1501 W. 26th Street, Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation begins at Noon, Friday, with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening at Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street, Sioux Falls. Concluding the visitation, a Prayer Service will begin at 7:00pm followed by the Rosary. www.millerfh.com

Smith, Gerald "Jerry"  
Gerald S. "Jerry" Smith Britton, SD: The memorial service for Gerald S. "Jerry" Smith will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church of Britton with Rev. Terrill Sorensen officiating. Visitation will be one hour preceding the service at the church. Spring burial of his ashes will be in the Groton Union Cemetery of Groton, SD. Jerry passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at Wheatcrest Hills in Britton at the age of 87. His arrangements have been entrusted to the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton. Jerry was born November 23, 1927 in Peoria, IL to Maurice D. and Hazel A (Herbig) Smith. As a youngster, he moved with his family to Aberdeen, SD where he attended Central High School, leaving early to join the Navy during WW II. Jerry has the distinction of serving in two branches of the service - the U. S. Navy during WW II and the U. S. Army during the Korean War. On November 23, 1946 Jerry was united in marriage with Ramona "Mona" Gail Aves. After completing his tours of duty, Jerry worked a number of different jobs, including time spent as a firefighter, over-the-road truck driver, inhalation therapist, owner/operator of a bar, restaurant manager and eventually the manager of a convenience store. He spent most of his working life in the Sioux Falls and Aberdeen areas. Jerry was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Sioux Falls. He also belonged to the Elks and Moose Lodges, as well as the V.F.W. Jerry had a great love of all dogs. He was an avid sports fan, especially for his beloved Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Grateful for having shared his life are his four sons and three daughters: Ken (Char) Smith of McKinney, TX; Barb (Neil Peters) Dahme of Britton; Steve Smith of Britton; Jeri Smith of Neshanic Station, NJ; Doug Smith (deceased); Mitch (Gloria Roubideaux) Smith of Yankton, SD; Lynn (Randy) Carlson of Lake City, SD; 14 grandchildren: Nicholle (Anthony) Rijken, Michelle (Brady) McWhorter, Kristin Anderson, Timothy Dahme, Troy (Lisa) Dahme, D.J. Makens, Amie (Phil) Wengryn, Michael (Becky) Makens, Jessica Ray, Allison Ray, Ashley Ray, Angela (Craig) Grupe, Ryan (Jennifer) Carlson and Brody Carlson; and 26 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Douglas Smith; a brother, Kennith Smith; and a sister, Wilma Wolfe.
