Lusk, Lysle  
Lysle Lusk Lysle Lusk, age 71 of Highmore, SD and formerly of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Thursday April 16, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Family visitation will be Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5 pm to 7 pm with a celebration of life service beginning at 7 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Military honors will follow the service. Lysle retired from Cole Papers after 20 years of dedicated service. Poppen, Caryl  
Caryl Lynn Poppen Caryl Lynn (Meyer) Poppen of rural De Smet, SD, passed away Saturday April 18th at the Good Samaritan Center in De Smet after a brief illness. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22nd at the United Congregational Church in De Smet. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet. Burial will be at the Spirit Lake Cemetery. Osthus Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Caryl Lynn was born September 3, 1933 on the family farm southwest of Bonilla, SD, to John and Mildred (Borah) Meyer. Caryl Lynn attended country school near her home, and graduated from Bonilla High School. She attended Huron College for two years. Caryl Lynn was married to Calvin Poppen on December 20, 1953, at the Presbyterian Church in Bonilla. She and her husband farmed northwest of De Smet their entire married life. She was a member of the Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church. Caryl Lynn is survived by her husband Calvin of rural De Smet, three brothers Harlan Meyer of Sioux Falls, Norman Meyer of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Kerwin (Fritz) Meyer of Sioux City, IA, children Dirk (Susan) Poppen of Sioux Falls, Luke (Janice) Poppen of De Smet, Susan (Dennis) Helder of Volga, and Joel (Susan) Poppen of Rochester, MN, along with twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Camden and Durward, three sisters, Elaine Meyer, Leora Rearick, and Lorna Poppen, and her son Daniel. Jane M. Weber Jane M. Weber, 73, of Salem passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 19. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12-4:30pm with a 3pm rosary at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Anderson, Dexter  
Dexter J Anderson Dexter Jay Anderson, age 64 passed away April 16, 2015. Jay was born May 31, 1950 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Donald and Eileen Anderson. Jay served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He met and married Cynthia Retterath in Sioux Falls in December of 1973. They lived in Sioux Falls until 1997 when they moved to Olathe, Kansas for a year before moving to Clive, Iowa where they lived for 17 years. Jay was in the wholesale plumbing and heating business for most of his working career. At the time of his retirement he was an estimator. In his time off he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, skeet shooting and building Lego models. He was preceded in death by his son Michael; parents and brother Wayne; and is survived by his wife; daughter Heather (Jason) Anderson Reigstad of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters Charlotte (Jerry) Retterath, RoxieAnn (David) Bradley, Mona (Greg) Valsvick, and brothers Kent (Mary), Stephen (Debbie), Roger (Tammy), Robert (Terri), Edwin and Douglas and many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Aspaas, Fayella "Faye"  
Fayella "Faye" Aspaas Fayella (Faye) Aspaas, age 93, died peacefully at Sanford Hospice Cottage, on April 16, 2015. Faye was born June 15, 1921 on a farm in Splitrock Township near Brandon, SD, to Andrew and Letha (McCullough) Torkelson. On June 26, 1940, she married Nils Aspaas at Beaver Valley Lutheran Church. They had two children, Lynn and Kathryn. Faye and Nils lived on the family farm near Baltic for 29 years, before moving into town. Like many woman of her time, Faye was at the center of her family's life on the farm. Faye was also an avid golfer, bowler, and card player, and she and Nils frequently could be found on the dance floor together. She was a very gracious host and fantastic cook, whose home was always open for a gathering of friends and family. Faye's pies alone will probably be requested in heaven! Faye is survived by her son, Lynn; sister, Ihla Ode; son-in-law, Ron Hefty (Eloise); grandchildren Maren Aspaas (John Legler); Kyle Aspaas (Wendy); Brian Hefty (Jenny); Darren Hefty; and Jannel Brueggeman (Paul); and 12 great-grandchildren. Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Nils; daughter, Kathryn; daughter-in-law, Barbara Aspaas; sister, Francis Scott; and great-grandchildren Grace Hefty (Darren) and Jonas Brueggeman (Jannel). Visitation will be Monday, April 20 from 5-7 pm at the Minnehaha Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be Tuesday, April 21 at 11 am at East Nidaros Lutheran Church.
