Dykstra, Gail  
Gail Dykstra Gail Dykstra, 88, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Funeral service will be at 11:00am Friday, November 21, 2014 at Calvary Reformed Church, Monroe, SD with burial in the Monroe Cemetery. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Gail Hokanson was born on December 26, 1925 at Morristown, SD to John and Nettie (Goodmanson) Hokanson. She was united in marriage to Duane Dykstra on July 12, 1947 at Sioux Falls, SD. They lived on a farm near Monroe, SD until moving to Colorado in 1956. Gail was an active member of the Valley Lutheran Church and a volunteer at St. Anthony's North Hospital for 20 years. Gail enjoyed her family, friends, and traveling. Grateful for having shared her life are 5 children, Bonnie, Windsor, CO, Darrel (Pam), Lakewood, CO, Donald, Denver, CO, Alan and Robin (Julia), all of Seward, AK; 9 grandchildren, Stacey, Jason, David, Erin, Nathan, Maxwell, Jacob, Robbin, and Keith; and 7 great grandchildren. Engberg, Leona  
Leona "Dolly" Engberg Leona Engberg, age 93, of Sioux Falls, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm Friday, November 22, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Augustana Lutheran Church, with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Leona Marion Fowler, daughter of James and Augusta (Eisenberg) Fowler, was born November 7, 1921 in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated from Washington High School in 1938 and attended Nettleton Commercial College. Leona then began working for Sunshine Mutual Insurance Company, where she later served as an officer and director for several years. She was united in marriage to Earl Engberg on November 10, 1960 in Sioux Falls. Leona retired from Sunshine Mutual in 1980. Earl preceded her in death in 2008. She was a life-long member of Augustana Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school, working with the women's groups, in the church office, and serving on the Council. She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was especially grateful for the friendship and help of Michael and Debbie Williams and Thomas Weber. www.millerfh.com

Erikson, Edwin  
Edwin Erikson Edwin E. Erikson, 99, of Howard died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Howard. Funeral services will be 2pm, Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Howard with Military Rites and burial in Belleview Lutheran Cemetery, rural Howard. Visitation will begin Saturday, at noon with family present from 4pm to 6pm at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard. Survivors include a brother: Dean (Lorene) Erikson of Salem, SD; a sister-in-law: Beverly Erikson of Brandon, SD; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, gr-great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Christine, four brothers: Clarence, Hebert, Arnold, and Vernie, three sisters: Myrtle Osterberg, Marlene Erikson and Ethel Koehler.

Eske, Wilmer  
Wilmer Eske Wilmer passed away on November 16, 2014 in hospice at the Good Samaritan Village at the age of 89. Rev. John Gale officiated the private inurnment Memorial Service on November 18, 2014. Wilmer "Tub" Eske was born March 25, 1925 at Groton, SD. He lived and attended school in that area. Wilmer married Normae Swain October 17, 1945 at Webster, SD. They spent several years attending to their land, cattle, buffalo and horses in Spink, Clark and Codington counties. They also owned Sioux Trailer and The Diamond Bit Company along with rental properties. After venturing to the country of Iran under government contract, where they lived for up to two years, they lived in New Mexico before settling in Sioux Falls. Rodeo and horses were enjoyed by Wilmer as a participant and the sport of bull riding as a spectator of which he could quote all the names and stats of the events which he followed throughout his lifetime. This resulted in Wilmer forming true lifetime friendships. Wilmer enjoyed and spent many hours reading. He had a talent for wit and writing. He wrote memoirs of his life, which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Another favorite pastime of playing cards on his computer or with his friends was enjoyed. He was very supportive of several charities and ministries. Wilmer is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Virg) Hyronimus of Sioux Falls and Bonnie (Bob) Goossen of Renner; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wilmer was proceeded in death by his spouse Normae Eske; his son Roger Eske; his parents Victor and Ruth (McLain) Eske; an infant sister Verda Eske; his brother Wyman Eske; his sister in law Maude Eske; his sister Ardis Mills. www.chapelhillfuneralhome.com

Feltis, Carol "Ann"  
Carol "Ann" Feltis Sioux Falls - Carol "Ann" Adkins was born August 20, 1960 in Sioux Falls to Richard Adkins Jr. and Carol Bergsma. After her parents divorced, Ann and her sister, Wendy, were raised by their grandparents, Richard Sr. and Hazel (Houts) Adkins Ann went to school at Eugene Field, Whittier and graduated from Lincoln High in 1978. She graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 1982 with a business degree. In 1992, Ann graduated from Dakota State University with a teaching degree. Ann married Frank Feltis in 1990 in Sioux Falls. She taught school for a couple years until Jenny came along in 1994. Jessy followed in 1996. Ann gladly became a stay at home mom for 20 years, homeschooling her girls until they went to high school. Ann and the girls loved every minute of homeschooling. Frank retired from the Sioux Falls Fire Department in 1996, went to seminary for 3 years, and then the title of Pastor's Wife became Ann's. The family moved to Oskaloosa, IA to pastor for 3 years, then on to Grand Rapids, MI for 5 years, and finally, Clarklake, MI for 6 years. Ann was beloved in each church that they served in. On April 16, 2014, Ann was diagnosed with ALS at the Mayo Clinic. Frank retired from pastoring June 1st to take care of Ann, and the family moved back to Sioux Falls to be closer to family. Ann passed away at the Dougherty Hospice House on Saturday, November 22 with many loved ones present. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Frank Feltis; her daughters Jennifer (Austin Campbell) Feltis, Jessica Feltis both in Sioux Falls; Her stepdaughters, Kelli (Birgit) Huwer—Sioux Falls and Shana (Dave) Arcudi—Sioux Falls; Sisters, Kelly (Mike) Steen—SF, Peggy (Roger) Stansell—Renner, SD, Carrie (Lance Aderhold) Murray—Pasadena, TX, Christine (Scott) Hensley—Pasadena, TX, Trish (Steve) Enders—Deer Park, TX; Brothers, Marty Adkins—Colton, SD, AJ Murray—Deer Park, TX, and Rick (Kylie) Murray—Brandon, SD; Stepmother, Kay (Jim Assid) Adkins—SF, Uncle, Steve Adkins—Havre, Montana; Six grandkids and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her father and mother; grandfather and grandmother; sister, Wendy Bennett; and stepson, Jon Feltis. There will be a memorial service on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1600 E. 12th Street, Sioux Falls. www.georgeboom.com

Fritza, Matilda  
Matilda Fritza Parkston - Matilda Bertha Fritza, 88, died Sunday, November 23 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, November 26 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Matilda Bertha Fritza was born October 7th, 1926 to Henry and Margaret (Kimber) Oster in Ethan, SD. She attended and graduated from Ethan High school and then received her teaching certificate from Springfield Normal School. She began her teaching career in a Country School in Davison County. Tillie was united in marriage to Leo Fritza on June 11th, 1946 in Ethan. They moved to a farm west of Parkston, SD where they raised their family and resided for 64 years. While raising her family, she resumed her more than 30 year teaching career. During this time, she graduated with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Dakota Wesleyn University. Tillie was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was involved in Catholic Daughters for over 60 years, Altar Society, study club, bible study and was a RENEW leader. She was also a member of the Parkston American Legion auxiliary. Tillie went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 23 in Hospice Care at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston at the age of 88. She is survived by five children: Patricia (Justin) Foss of Minneapolis, MN; Diane (Bob) Gordon of Montrose, SD; Kathy (David) Talsma of Spearfish, SD; Dan (Carol) Fritza of South Sioux City, NE; and Janet (Perry) Herrboldt of Tea, SD; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Barnes of Portland, OR and Phyllis (Clair) Lambert of Artesian, SD; 3 sisters-in-law, Devonia Oster of Mitchell, SD; Vi Fritza of Mt Vernon, SD; and Marie Roeman of Dell Rapids, SD; and a brother-in-law, Norb (Joan) Fritza of Parkston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; a son, David; an infant daughter, Carol; 3 brothers, Francis, Tony and John; and 3 sisters, Sr. Margaret Mary, June and Ruth.

William "Bill" Georgeson William "Bill" Georgeson, 72, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at his home in Sioux Falls. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. William Wendell Georgeson was born on May 18, 1942 at Yankton, SD to Russell and Ardell (Brunner) Georgeson. He graduated from Hurley High School. He worked various road construction jobs for several years. He enjoyed going to auction sales and purchasing antiques which he resold at antique shops and flea markets. He was a Friend of Bill and member of AA for over 35 years. Grateful for having share his life are a brother, Joe (Karon Wilson), Viborg; 3 sisters, Carolyn (Richard) Cink and Marcia (Robert) Sunderman, Sioux Falls, and Donna (John) Merrick, Council Bluffs, IA; a sister in law, Linda Georgeson, Hurley; an aunt, Phyllis Friman, Lennox; and several nieces and nephews.
