Connie Lenz, age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-8:00 PM Wednesday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Memorials may be directed to the Garretson Community Ambulance.
Connie Lee Lenz was born on July 26, 1950 to Robert and LaVonne Brendsel. Connie was a 1968 graduate of Garretson High School. Following graduation, she attended DSU. Connie and her two sons, Chad and Shannon, moved from Madison, SD to Garretson in 1981. She was employed at EROS Data Center as well as the Garretson Weekly.
Connie married Daniel Lenz on September 28th, 1996 in Madison, SD. She worked as a receptionist at Rapid Air, sold Home Interior, and also provided manicures and pedicures at a local salon.
Connie greatly enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in their various sporting and school activities. Other interests included home decorating, boating, racing, and socializing and entertaining those around her. Despite chronic health issues, Connie always looked her best and persevered through many trials.
Connie is survived by her husband, Dan, of Madison; her two sons, Chad Frewaldt, of Kansas City and Shannon (Shawn) Frewaldt, of Garretson; six grandchildren - Mitchell, Morgan, Kelbi, Hannah, Lucie, and Stella; three sisters - Monica (Chuck) McGillivray, Deb McClelland of Madison, and Cherie Herber of Colorado; one brother, Wesley (Liz) Brendsel, of Lancaster, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Robert and LaVonne, Dan's parents, Chuck and Rita, a brother-in-law, Dick, and a sister-in-law, Donna. minnehahafuneralhome.com
