Doris J. Randall
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am. Monday, July 1, for Doris J. Randall, 87, Madison, who died Thursday, June 27, 2013. The Rev. Conrad Krahling will officiate at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, and burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery at rural Madison. Visitation will begin at 1 pm. Sunday at Randall Funeral Home, with family present to greet friends at 3 pm. Visitation will resume at 9 am. Monday at the church.
Doris Julia Treloar was born Nov. 6, 1925, at Madison to Will L. and Julia (Selgestad) Treloar. She grew up and attended school in the Orland area and graduated from Orland High School in 1943. She married Earl M. (Maynard) Randall on June 15, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. She attended General Beadle State Teachers College (Dakota State University) and received her teaching certification. She taught at Wentworth and then at Junius before transferring and teaching at Orland High School. She taught there until 1965, at which time she became a stay-at-home mother. She later filled in and taught a year at the Gracevale Colony School.
In 1978, she became employed at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home where she worked until an automobile accident left her disabled in 1995. She was member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Madison, and a past member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church of Orland. When her health permitted, she was active in church activities, including the Advent Tea and working on the funeral and wedding committees. She was a past Parish Board of Education member. She was also active in the Gray Ladies, helping out at area nursing homes with Bingo; and a member of the V.F.W
She is survived by her son, Mark M. (Cynthia) Randall and their two sons, all of Madison; 11 nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl M. (Maynard) Randall on Jan. 16, 2012; her parents; a brother, Virgil Treloar; a nephew; a brother and sister-in-law, Gen. Randall, and Bearl and Hazel Kelley.
