Ethel M. Pavlin
Ethel Pavlin, 92, Mount Vernon, SD, died Friday, January 17, 2014 at her daughter's home in Sioux Falls, under hospice care. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Ethel M. Pavlin was born July 31, 1921 at Stickney SD to Eugene and Mary (Kopietz) Crater. She grew up and attended Pleasant Lake Country School.
On September 26, 1940 she married Anthony "Tony" Pavlin in Hartington NE. They resided in the Kimball area and in 1945, moved to a farm in the Mount Vernon area.
She devoted her life to raising her children. She was a very loving and giving person and her children meant the world to her.
She is survived by her children: James (Agnes) Pavlin, Parkston; Ron (Ramona) Pavlin, Mitchell; Charles (Evie) Pavlin, Sioux Falls; Thomas (Trudy) Pavlin, Mitchell and Ethel "Blondie" Pavlin, Sioux Falls; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Pavlin, her son, Donald Pavlin, a step-son, Ralph Pavlin and a step-daughter, Pearl Crawford, seven brothers: Art, Bill, Lloyd, Cecil, Raymond, George and Harold and two sisters: Ida Grandrath and Rose Flutes.
