Florence Pearson Dana
Dana, Florence P. Age 98 of St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Sioux Falls. Died peacefully April 30. Survived by daughter Mary (Joseph) Huber, St. Paul, sons Richard (Nancy), St. Paul, and Charles (Deborah), Alexandria, VA; grandchildren Marjorie (Charles) Dana-Levine, Charles and Patricia, St. Paul, and Juliet, Oakland, CA, Susan and Carolyn Huber, St. Paul, Richard (Shannon), Boulder, CO, M. Bradford, Alexandria, VA and C. Paige, Washington, DC; great-grandchildren Howard, Rachel, Sam and Elan Levine, St. Paul, Sophia Anger, St. Paul, and Raymond Dana, Boulder, CO; and her two sisters Eldores Allan, Yankton, SD, and Elaine Shaner, Seattle, WA, and numerous special cousins, nieces and nephews. Born near Hartford, SD, February 4, 1915, to Alfred and Esther Pearson. Attended Washington High School and graduated from Sioux Falls College. At age nineteen she taught in a one-room schoolhouse on the South Dakota prairie. Married Raymond Earl Dana in Calvary Cathedral, Sioux Falls, November 10, 1940. Worshipped there until moving to Minneapolis in 1966. Member of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Mpls., for past 37 years. Volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels until she was 89. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, and siblings Marjorie, Elwood and Adrian Pearson. Memorial service Friday, May 10 at 2:00 PM at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove St., Mpls. In lieu of flowers, she would prefer memorials to St. Mark's, Meals-on-Wheels, or U of M Men's Basketball Program.
