Isaaya Ayafa, 7, of Sioux Falls, died July 15, 2013 at Avera McKennan Hospital as the result of a drowning accident.
Isaaya was born January 23, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. At the time of his death, he had just completed his first grade year at Oscar Howe Elementary School. An unusually bright young man, Isaaya had already been placed in advanced placement classes in school—something considered unusual in his age group.
Everyone that met Isaaya immediately fell in love with him. He enjoyed life and could give you the most amazing smile. He loved helping people and really enjoyed playing video games. Among his favorites, was "Sonic the Hedgehog".
In keeping with his giving spirit, Isaaya's family chose to donate his organs and tissue so that he could give at least six other people the gift of life and good health.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Amber Snustad of Sioux Falls, SD; Charles Ayafa of Chicago, IL and Kan Nyuon; a brother, Nyuon William Nyuon of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Terah Snustad and Madisyn Morgan, both of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandparents, Brad and Gloria Graue of Sioux Falls, SD and Carla Hessaa, also of Sioux Falls; his uncles, Jordan Banker, Jared Banker, Jeremiah Graue, Charles Graue and Curtis Graue; and two aunts, Jessica Snustad and Trinity Lyons.
A celebration of Isaaya's life will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Isaaya Ayafa Memorial Fund at Great Western Bank.
