Jim Vollmer

Jim Arthur Vollmer, 52, was born on May 7, 1960, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Irven and Anna Vollmer. He graduated in 1978 from Bismarck High School. He continued his education at NDSU in Fargo, ND and Bismarck Junior College. In 1987, he received his masters in Counseling and Christian Education from North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux Falls, SD. Jim was currently working at the Avera Health hospital as a Social Worker. He cherished his family time by playing sports, watching movies, going on bike rides, and many other activities his children loved. He helped out his wife unselfishly in many ways such as cooking for his family. He loved to sing and was a part of the choir at Trinity Baptist Church. He was a role model to his family. He demonstrated his faith through his actions and touched the lives of many others through his gentle spirit.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Brittany Joy Vollmer, who attends Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

Visitation, with family present, will be held at Sioux Falls Christian High School on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 pm with the funeral on Friday at 11:00 am in the high school gymnasium. Following the service, the burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to assist Brittany Vollmer with future education related expenses.
